Ralph Blessing, PhD (ABD) is Executive Vice President and subject matter expert for safety, security and environmental matters for Marine Technology Solutions.
He is a retired United States Naval Cryptologist and Linguist whose career allowed him to travel around the world in support of tasking by the President and Joint Chiefs of Staff.
He commenced his safety career while serving on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean where he assumed the role as Base Safety and Training Officer. That was 33 years ago. He continued the role in a collateral function until he retired in 1994 and immediately departed to the Middle East where he worked as a technical trainer to the Royal Saudi Air Force for 7 years. After returning to the United States he accepted a job as a Corporate Safety Director for a major mechanical contractor in the Atlanta Area where he was instrumental in bringing about major changes to the industry.
He currently is a full-time professor at the College of Safety and Emergency Services, is a board member of the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) and was a Trustee with the Sheet Metal Occupational Health Institute Trust (SMOHIT).
He has published papers on Welding Fume Sickness and other safety related issues. He has been instrumental in supporting Columbia Southern University by writing articles, providing webinars, and most importantly, as Alumni President.
Ralph has a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, a Masters in Occupational Safety and Health and lacks his dissertation for a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration.
